These patches are of 2-5 mm round shaped and are of dim color on the skin. These dim spots are also called the white patches in medical terminology. These patches take place due to the skin disorder called vitiligo. The vitiligo spots appear mostly on that part of the body that is much exposed to the sun like shins and forearms. But often other parts of the body too get affected by vitiligo like shoulders, chest and face.
